Bailey Lewis is the recipient of a 2026 ArtFields Public Art Grant for her interactive object-based storytelling encounter, The Gumball Machine of Great Fortune. She is a Pushcart Prize nominee, nominated for her story, “Séance,” published in Northwind Magazine. She has been listed in The Wigleaf Top 50 for her story, “When the South Wind Blows, Glass Shatters and Disappears Like Rain,” published in Paper Darts.
Her novel-in-stories, Iowa Gothic, received a Dean’s Thesis Fellowship from The University of South Carolina for excellence in a creative thesis project.
Her story, “Severance” was a finalist for the Mid-American Review’s Sherwood Anderson Award.
Her story, “Seance” received second place in Northwind Magazine’s Emerging Writer Contest.
Her story “Leftovers” was named a winner of the Dr. Hurley’s Snake-Oil Cure 100-Word Story Contest.
Her story, “Gutter” received second place in the Our Stories Literary Journal Emerging Writer Contest.
